What is WebInterview?
WebInterview is software from TalentMatrix specifically designed to collect candidate information and media without the candidate having to travel to a meeting. It captures high quality media, irrespective of the connection speed of your, or your interviewer’s network. It connects to a private network specifically designed for discreet meetings.
Who uses WebInterview?
Principally people who are looking for candidates to fill a vacancy. This might be the hiring company, or their agent(s). It might be a company that specialises in recruitment processing.
Why use WebInterview?
Organisations use WebInterview to save their time and candidate’s travel time. Hiring organisation can get a consistent approach across a group of candidates. WebInterview allows secondary interviewers, those other people that influence a decision, to ‘attend’ the interview without having to schedule additional meetings with the candidate.
Should I use WebInterview from work or home?
We would always recommend that you use your own technology, or that provided by a recruitment partner of Talent Matrix. Your application is more discreet. Of course, there might be ethical issues if you use your employer’s equipment.
Are you worried about the fairness of a WebInterview
One of the many problems of traditional preliminary interviews is that it relies on just one person. If you get through that “gate” you are in the process. WebInterview’s rigour and constinency means that everybody is asked the same questions; each candidate will be evaluated on equal terms. WebInterview’s source data gets fed into TalentMatrix’s candidate presentation system. Here more than one person can assess the various meits of each candidate. More people means that their is less change that a flawed or biased decision will be made. It’s like having a panel interview, but without the hassle of organising it!
WebInterview is not transfering files!
I can not get my contact’s picture!
It is possible that a firewall is preventing WebInterview contact the Talent Matrix servers. You will need to allow WebInterview to have internet access. Please refer to your computer’s firewall settings. If you continue to have a problem, check the settings on your network router. If you are an interviewer, you will need to get your IT department to allow you access to these resources. Please login to the customer site, complete the IT requirement form.
I can not start a call or a chat session with my contact
Firstly, check the firewall settings on your computer, then on your router. If you are trying to use WebInterview from your current employer’s network then it is likely that they block unauthorised use of file transfers and protocols that WebInterview uses. If your employer has authorised the use of WebInterview, then you need to contact the IT services team to allow access to the protocols necessary for WebInterview to operate.
My webcam doesn’t seem to be working
If it is an external camera make sure the cable is inserted in the USB port. (You be surprised!)
Can you see your image in the viewfinder part of the WebInterview software?
If not, run the camera setup wizard again (Options on the menu bar).
If the camera wizard can not identify the camera - it is likely it has not been properly installed.
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to install the camera, and then retrace the steps above to get the camera functioning
Errors 129 & 130
You have another program using the webcam. Please stop that program, or release the webcam. You might restart the WebInterview software, if it does not grab the camera automatically.
Old webcams
Old webcams (purchased before 2003) will produce poor recording results, when compared to more recent models. These recordings will reflect on your presentation. In most cases, you can get them to operate with WebInterview. However, the video setup wizard does have to be interpolated more carefully. In come cases you will have to close the wizard if no options are found.
If you have to use an old webcam. Make sure the lighting is good, and the focus is as fine as you can get.
